VW Passat 2013 Keys in boot.
As usual no rest for the wicked this sunday morning, despite several other vehicle related calls the first actual job was a 2013 vw passat with the keys locked in boot, the customer had contacted the AA who advised them to call me.
The customers were visiting from America and staying at the Tresanton hotel in St Mawes cornwall and were loading the car with there luggage ready to move onto there next destination in Devon, so i jumped in the van and off i trundled, and luckily for once i actually managed to get the King Harry ferry crossing times right (always miss it by a few minutes normally!)
On arrival i was met by four people sat outside enjoying the sunny views from around St mawes, not normally the case when people are locked out!
After checking vehicle details with the owner, i selected the correct lock pick for the job and removed the trim plate that conceals the key hole (most customers dont even know it’s there). I then started to minipulate each of the wafers inside the lock to get a feel for picking, after a matter of a few minutes the vehicle was open, and after a bit of rummaging around the vehicle we managed to find the key wedged down between two suitcases.
Once again this is a situation where people are tempted to reach for wire coathangers etc etc, please dont waste your time the only thing you will end up doing is damage to the paintwork or breaking something that will cost far more than calling out an auto locksmith that will do no damage to the car at all!
